New kid on the block.......

Meet Tuan, he's a great little guy, at only seven years old he is the youngest child that ACCV sponsors. He comes from a very poor area not too far from Hanoi.

Dat and his friends had gone to Soc Son province for a visit and as they walked around the village taking photos they were soon joined by a very curious little man with lots of questions. He was quite intrigued by who they were and what they were doing. Dat and his friends took a shine to him and indulged his many questions, he was particularly interested in the camera and photos being taken.

They spent the afternoon together and over ice cream and candies Dat and his friends got to know Tuan a little. After a while they accompanied him back to his home where his elderly grandmother told them Tuan’s story. His father had died and soon after he had been abandoned, and so he came to live with her. It wasn’t difficult to see that Tuan was quite malnourished and the Grandmother was really struggling too, she verified that they often go hungry because they don’t have enough to eat. They have no income and they try to grow a few vegetables in the yard to survive.

As a result of that chance meeting ACCV is now supporting Tuan and his Grandmother with a little protein and 5kg of rice each month, at a cost of less than $10 per month. For only $120 a year Tuan and his Grandmother can eat well.
.
It still amazes me that such a small amount of money can make such a huge difference in peoples lives, ............ and it still amazes me that there are so many people who desperately need help.
.
kind regards
